Scotland's first 120 tonne Terex Demag delivered

AB 2000, based in Scotland, has taken delivery of a 120 tonne capacity Terex Demag AC 120-1 all terrain crane.

"This crane complements our existing fleet of nine mobile cranes which range from a specialized 15 tonne Jones Iron Fairy low headroom crane to an 80 tonne, 50 m jib Terex mobile crane," according to AB 2000.

The five axle AC 120-1 is the the only one of its kind in Scotland, according to Terex Demag. It can travel with up to 27 tonnes of counterweight, reducing transport costs. It has a 60 m main jib and a fly jib of 17 m, the company added.

With the crane AB 2000 is hoping to attract new customers requiring larger machines. "The purchase of this crane shows our continuing high standard of commitment to all sectors of the civil, mechanical, construction and mining industries. Also, this crane, the largest in our current fleet, will further complement our established contract lift and machinery installation business, allowing us to better serve our existing customers and expand to new areas," said Adam Bruce, AB 2000 managing director.

The company has ordered two more cranes in the 100 and 200 tonne capacity ranges, one of them from Terex Demag.
