Scottish Coal orders Terex

Scottish Coal has taken delivery of the first 16 Terex TR100 rigid trucks of a 32 unit order. Delivered to its Pennyvenie opencast coal mine in Ayrshire, Scotland, the remaining 16 trucks will be delivered to the company’s Lanarkshire site later this year.
The Terex TR100 rigid trucks will move peat, sub soil and rock in a project that’s expected to last up to five years. Loading of the trucks will be carried out by Terex RH120C and RH120E excavators already on site.
“The team at Terex has been working hard to build a strong partnership with Scottish Coal and ensure its relevant needs are taken into account,” said Terex sales director John Black. “We modified the trucks to meet Scottish Coal’s individual requirements, including a fast fuel system, fire suppression system and additional lighting.
“Our goal is to achieve high levels of truck availability during the lifetime of the repair and maintenance contract, in order to help Scottish Coal meet their output targets,” confirmed Mr Black.
