Second World Crane Auction

More than 90 cranes were on sale at IronPlanet's second online World Crane Auction on 29 September 2010.

The auction, hosted in association with KHL Group, featured cranes from countries around the world, including the USA, Germany, Ireland, Spain and United Arab Emirates.

The auction was at www.ironplanet.com and there was a range of crane types, including all terrains, crawlers, rough terrains, truck mounted and tower cranes. Examples include:

  • 2008 Grove RT9130E rough terrain crane in Louisiana, USA
  • 2008 Grove RT700E rough terrain crane in Louisiana, USA
  • 1999 Link-Belt LS-248H II 200 US tonne capacity lattice boom crawler crane in Florida, USA
  • Manitowoc Model 3900 lattice boom crawler crane in Texas, USA.

Inspection reports on the cranes for sale can be viewed at the company website. The reports include photos and detailed information on the visual inspection of systems and components. Also included are ratings and notes, images of the equipment, wear-related measurements and oil and fluid samples where appropriate.

The cranes are sold to the highest bidder. Prior to auction day, registered bidders can place bids through IronPlanet's PriorityBid service which can also automate bidding on the buyer's behalf if the buyer is unable to attend the auction.

More than 80 cranes were sold at the first World Crane Auction in June. The inaugural auction drew buyers from around the world including Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, France, Israel, Mexico, Poland, Ukraine, UK and the USA.
