Selco expansion to include tool and plant hire

29 September 2015

Leading UK builders merchant Selco Builders Warehouse is to offer tool and plant hire from three new branches opening before the end of the year - ahead of a roll out across the entire branch network in 2016.

The openings, in Southampton, Weybridge in Surrey and New Southgate in the London area, will bring the total number of branches nationwide to 40. The company is looking to double in size within five years, increasing its workforce to 4000 people in the process.

Chief executive Chris Cunliffe said: “That is a significant number and, as well as providing the best possible service to our customers, is the major driving factor behind us keeping the Selco impetus going.

“We have already opened two new branches this year in Redhill (Surrey) and Coventry so it’s been a very busy 2015.

“The branches at New Southgate and Weybridge will provide yet more opportunities for us to service our customers in and around the M25.

“The Southampton branch is a little different because it’s a new area for us but it’s another small step towards us trying to get a branch in every major UK town and city.”

Selco already has tool and plant hire available from 24 branches in London, Nottingham and Coventry.
