Chinese equipment manufacturer Shantui has achieved CE-mark certification for its SD16 crawler dozer. This will allow the 17 tonne, 120 kW machine to be sold in the European Union. According to a company spokesman, Shantui has already sold four SD16s in Germany. It is now working on CE-mark certification for its compaction equipment.

Shantui is one of China's largest construction equipment manufacturers, with sales last year of CNY 1,91 billion (€ 135 billion). In addition to making dozers and rollers under its own name, it has a crawler excavator joint-venture with Komatsu which, according to Off-Highway Research, was China's market leader last year.
