07 October 2013

Swedish contractor Skanska has been awarded an SEK 1.2 billion (€135 million) contract by Sweden's Akademiska Hus to construct a research laboratory in Solna.

Ground preparation works have already started on the Biomedicum laboratory, which is to be constructed in the eastern part of the Karolinska Institutet.

When the research laboratory is completed in 2018, it will be one of the largest in Europe, with room for 1,700 scientists and other personnel.
