Snorkel shopping in Uruguay
28 August 2013
Uruguay-based construction company EBITAL rented eight Snorkel TL37J trailer-mounted booms for the construction of the Shopping Nuevo Centro mall in capital city Montevideo.
EBITAL then purchased four of the machines from Snorkel Uruguay and Paraguay distributor Corin S.A.
Ricardo Umpierre, director of Corin, said: "EBITAL selected the TL37J to work in general tasks, but particularly to operate on terraces with low load-bearing capabilities. In such instances, the gross weight of the machine (1,389kg) is of high importance.
"Because of its light weight, EBITAL was also able to use the TL37s to apply the finishing touches to the interior – this included deploying the TL37 over very high quality tiled floors," added Mr Umpierre.
The TL37J provides a maximum platform height of 11.2 m and maximum horizontal outreach of 5.9 m. The articulated boom configuration is designed for effective up and over access, while also helping to the machine to retain compact stowed dimensions for storage and transport.
The 1.3 m jib with 130° working arc, combined with 160° powered platform rotation, offer additional manoeuvrability at the work face. It is powered via a 24V deep cycle battery pack, meaning it can be used indoors as well as outside.
