Rental company HKL Baumaschinen has been appointed exclusive dealer in Germany for the Sokkia range of lasers. The deal covers the Sokkia and Triax branded models.

Frank Grunder, European sales manager laser products, said HKL had been chosen for its "excellent network of 133 tool and rental shops and fits perfectly as additional channel besides the existing Topcon and Sokkia distribution channels in Germany."

Starting on 1 April, HKL will begin to distribute the Sokkia laser line-up. All its stores are being equipped and personnel are being trained. "We're convinced that we have made the right choice with HKL," said Mr Grunder.

Sokkia's laser range includes the LP30/LP31 lasers and their successors, the LP400 Series.

Meanwhile, HKL reports that it has opened a new depot in Hessen, Limburg, in the north west of Germany. The depot is located two minutes from the A3 autoroute and closes a gap between existing depots in Koblenz, Siegen, Gießen, Frankfurt and Wiesbaden.

Mark Ohl, director of the HKL Center in Limburg, said; "Now customers can access from Limburg and surrounding areas the entire range of rental equipment."
