Spanish Rockster

A Rockster R900 tracked impact crusher is being used on a bridge contract in northern Spain to turn 10 m (33 ft) long waste concrete beams from waste that could only be sent to landfill into a valuable secondary source of aggregates. The beams contain reinforcement wires with a diameter of 4 mm, making them difficult to process in the past. However, the R900 could process them once they were cut into 1.5 m (5 ft) long lengths. Fed into the machine, the steel reinforcement was separated from crushed concrete, resulting in two new revenue streams – one from recycled metals and one for recycled aggregates.
