Speedy Hire is supporting the Manchester International Festival by supplying free equipment, including generators, fencing and crowd control barriers, temporary accommodation for on-site offices and communication equipment.

The festival, which runs from 2 to 19 July, is being held for the second time and features music, opera and theatre as well as concerts by acts such as Kraftwerk and Elbow.

Steve Corcoran, Chief Executive at Speedy, said the company was delighted to be supporting the event; "As a north-west based company, we consider it important that we lend our support to this event in the continued development of Manchester's international reputation.

"We are pleased that our involvement has helped the festival organisers deliver a truly exceptional programme of events and performances."

Speedy is supplying equipment to the main festival site in Albert Square as well as several other sites across the city, as thousands of people flock to the streets of Manchester.

Festival director Alex Poots said: "Speedy has the skill and experience to support a complex event like the Manchester International Festival and we are delighted to be working with them again."
