Speedy invests €5.6 million in power products

UK rental firm adds 200 new generators and 150 fuel pods to its power locations across the UK and Ireland

Speedy's fPods, with capacities ranging from 5,300 to 17,880 Speedy’s fPods, with capacities ranging from 5,300 to 17,880 litres are available across its UK and Ireland power locations.

Speedy has invested £5 million (€5.6 million) in its power fleet to cater to the growing demand for low-carbon site equipment.

The UK-based company has added over 200 generators - all compatible with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel - to its fleet and around 150 fuel tanks to its locations across the UK and Ireland.

Ranging from 20 kva to 500 kva, Speedy’s new generators mean it now holds a fleet of around 2,500 HVO-compatible gensets. HVO is said to reduce carbon emissions by up to 90%.

The company’s new fuel pod models, which are individually called ‘fPod’ and can be used as temporary fuel stations onsite as part of its fuel management service, have capacities ranging from 5,300 to 17,880 litres.

Designed to cut fuel deliveries and to reduce the risk of spills, the fpods include an intelligent monitoring system that notifies the user and Speedy when refilling is required.
