Quality Mat Company supplied mats for international heavy transport and lifting specialist ALE's 190,000 tonne-metre rated AL.SK190 super heavy lifter.

They were used during lifting duties at Valero's Port Arthur, Texas, USA refinery overhaul. The six-month project required about 6,000 12-inch (300 mm) crane mats up to 32 feet (11 metres) long. One of the lifts was 1,338 tonnes at 54 m outreach.

"We are pleased to be selected by Valero for this very important project," said Joe Penland, founder and owner of Quality Mat Company. "I am proud that we have not only met all of our deadlines, we have exceeded Valero's expectations."

Quality Mat Company produces hardwood mats in a range of designs and sizes. It supplies many industries, including oil and gas, pipeline, utilities, disaster relief, construction, and environmental clean-up.
