German-based rental software company Sycor will exhibit at The Rental Show in February as part of a concerted move into the North American equipment rental market.

Sycor, which is a Microsoft partner, has had an office in the US since 2001 but only recently has it been targeting the equipment rental sector. Its Pittsburgh-based subsidiary, Sycor Americas, has joined the American Rental Association (ARA) and will exhibit for the first time at ARA's Rental Show, taking place on 6-8 February in New Orleans.

"We are looking forward to meeting our fellow ARA members at the show and at our booth No 9505 and showcase Sycor Rental and its enhanced functions to them for the first time," said Klaus Wilmes-Groebel, president and chief executive officer of Sycor Americas.

Earlier this year Sycor announced that Canadian crane rental company Guay Inc had chosen its Microsoft-based Sycor Rental system to run its North American business. Another Sycor customer is European formwork and scaffolding provider Doka, which in addition to using the Sycor system in Europe is running it in North American and Brazil.

Sycor said its software is being used in over 35 countries and its systems range from 20-people licences to systems for 850 users.
