Crane and heavy load logistics contractor Maxikraft used two Liebherr mobile cranes to lift and load two condensers and a turbine at Dresden’s Alberthafen dock in Germany.

The 750 tonne capacity LTM 1750-9.1 and the 500 tonne capacity LTM 1500-8.1 were required to lift the cargo from low loader trailers onto ships. The challenge was that the components had to be moved by lifting them in tandem before they could be lowered into the dock basin.

The heaviest component was the turbine which weighed 214 tonnes. During the lift the LTM 1500-8.1 handled 102 tonnes of the load and the LTM 1750-9.1 handled 112 tonnes.

The components will be transported to a new waste incineration plant in Copenhagen.
