The ERA Technical Committee met at the Wacker Neuson Academy in Reichertshofen, Germany

After a report on the ERA’s activities by Michel Petitjean, the General Secretary of the ERA, various topics were discussed. Martin Sebestyen, the Chairman of the Committee, reported on the work the Committee has been doing regarding training and telematics.

Richard Honig, General Manager and Head of equipment fleet at Max Bögl Transport und Geräte GmbH & Co. KG, and Wolfgang Lübberding, General Manager of VDBUM, presented the works done by VDBUM on telematics and discussed with the participants how to improve cooperation between the two associations.

VDBUM is a German association, serving professionals in construction, environmental and mechanical engineering, representing its members in all aspects of these industries to provide a networking outlet for professionals.

A live demonstration was also made by the company Irdeto, introducing the “Digital Key”, a new solution “improving the rental cycle and experience”.

The Committee also reviewed the outcomes of the Technical workshop at the 2019 ERA Convention. The questions put to the groups during the workshop dealt with the circular economy and the positioning of the rental platform versus the traditional rental companies in terms of equipment and relations with the OEMs.

The Committee also reviewed the introduction of topics that could be of interest for the members of this working group in the future.
