Terex crushing and screening brands come together

06 July 2009

Terex Corporation has announced a major strategic initiative that is aimed at creating one of the world's largest suppliers of mobile crushing and screening equipment. This is to be achieved by the union of the Terex Pegson and Powerscreen brands under the Powerscreen name. In addition, the Pegson crusher range will now be painted in the ‘Powerscreen Green' colour scheme.

The Pegson name will not be lost however, and will continue in use on product descriptions, with the crushers being known under the Powerscreen Pegson name followed by the model designation.

In a statement, Powerscreen global sales director Pat Brian said: "This is the final step in a careful process that brings together these two powerful names in crushing and screening and allows us to successfully leverage the strength of one reinforced brand, to make Powerscreen the premier name in mobile crushing and screening products across the globe."

Two Centres of Excellence were established by Terex in Northern Ireland early this year - Dungannon, where Powerscreen screening equipment is produced and Omagh, the home for the crushing equipment.

Mr Brian went on: "The speed of progress made in aligning our business demonstrates our appetite and hunger for success. A new unified, powerful brand, two new Centres of Excellence, a strong range of innovative products, a streamlined third party distribution network and strengthened internal sales and customer support has positioned us well for the future and we are focussed, committed and looking forward to the challenges ahead."
