Terex Finlay used a recent four day dealer event in Ireland to introduce a new tracked cone crusher, the C-1550 with direct drive. The machine comes with a pre-screen system with a single deck 2.5 m (8 ft) x 1.5 m (5 ft) screen and 1.2 m (3.9 ft) belt that removes fines from the feed stream to improve cone capacity, product flexibility and reduced liner wear. The pre-screen can produce a roadbase product from the side conveyor (mountable on either side of the machine. The crusher unit features variable speed, tramp relief and 'on the fly' closed side setting.

The 8 m3 (10.4 yd3) hopper has an automatic metal detection and purge system to protect the cone and reduce downtime by the removal of metal contaminants from the feed belt at the touch of a button.

The same event also saw the debut of the new tracked 964+ screen that features a 6 m (20 ft) x 1.5 m (5 ft) triple deck inclined screen box that offers efficient screening allied to high capacity. Powered by a Cat 4.4 diesel developing 97 kW (130 hp), the new screen has four on-board hydraulically folding conveyors, which are also fully adjustable. The fourth 'oversize plus' conveyor has variable tilt and side slew to allow the accurate discharge of material for recirculation and stockpiling.
