A 3,200 tonne capacity Terex CC8800-1 Twin, used by Zongyuan Construction lifts a 1,046 tonne power plant generator in China

Zongyuan Construction Co. Ltd used a 3,200 tonne capacity Terex CC8800-1 Twin crawler crane to lift a power plant generator unit in China.

The 1,046 tonne generator is part of the first phase of the Power Project in Haiyang, Shandong Province and will help power a third generation AP 1000 power plant.

During the operation, the CA20 generator module, measuring 21 x 14 x 21 m was positioned onto a 10 m high foundation. The CC 8800-1 Twin was configured with super side lift and a 69 m main boom, set up at a 34 m radius.

The machine carried out a counter-clockwise slewing movement, with its load on the hook, and crawled into its final position on the construction site.

Following a further slewing movement at a 36.5 m working radius, the giant crawler gently lowered the CA20 generator module into position. The operation was carried out in 1 hour, 42 minutes.
