The Netherlands awards €1 billion road contract

A consortium consisting of Dutch companies Boskalis (30%) and VolkerWessels (35%) as well as German contractor Hochtief (35%) has been awarded a €1 billion contract that represents the first phase of a road expansion programme for Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Rijkswaterstaat, the executive arm of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment awarded the contract to the SAAone consortium. The project involves the reconstruction, widening and 30-year maintenance of the A1 and A6 roads between the Diemen intersection on the A1 and the Almere Havendreef intersection on the A6.
