Canadian skid steer loader producer Thomas Equipment Inc has appointed John Andrews as its regional business manager for Western Europe.

Mr Andrews, who will be based in the UK, has over two decades of heavy equipment industry experience for companies including Caterpillar and others in North America and Europe.

Before joining Thomas, Mr Andrews was operating as a consultant for European companies and before that worked at Dana Commercial Credit and First Fleet Corp, where he was responsible for business development and sales of equipment fleet management and leasing programmes for Fortune 500 customers.

He will report to Mary Jane Clark, Thomas's recently-appointed director of European and Australian operations, who said, "As we expand Thomas' business in existing markets and open new areas of growth in Europe, we are confident John will make a vital contribution to our progress."

Gilbert Bedard, vice president of global sales, said; "John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Thomas and will play a key role in furthering our strategic initiatives in the Europe."

Canadian manufacturer Thomas Equipment is part of Osiris Corp, whose subsidiaries include Thomas Equipment Inc; Thomas Equipment Asia Co Ltd; Thomas Ventures Inc, Pneutech-Rousseau Inc; and TcomT Inc. The company has manufacturing plants in Canada and Korea.
