Manitowoc has announced the launch the Grove GMK3060 at April's Bauma 2013 exhibition in Germany.

The GMK3060 is an upgraded version of the GMK3055 and has a 43 metre boom on a three-axle carrier, an additional 2 tonne counterweight and a new operator cab.

Additional features include the Manitowoc Crane Control System (CCS). CCS is a standardised set of displays, joysticks, control units and a jog dial. Also new is the operator cab design.

Another new Grove crane at Bauma 2013 with CCS is the new 45 tonne capacity RT550E rough terrain crane.

Andreas Cremer, all terrain cranes product manager at Manitowoc, said CCS offers one of the most user-friendly interfaces on the market. “This control system makes our cranes easier to use and more efficient,” he said.

“The new GMK3060 and RT550E, which we expect to be very popular among rental companies and contractors, will show visitors at Bauma 2013 how the system works and how operators can get the most out of a Manitowoc crane," Cremer continued.

The new GMK3060 also has a new boom optimisation system. It automatically provides optimal boom options for performing a lift.
