Tim Ford takes over at Genie

24 April 2008

Mr Ford (right) will report to Terex chief executive officer Ron DeFeo and also Mr Wilkerson, who will remain at Terex to “help with customer and other growth initiatives. He comes to Terex from The Toro Company, a US$1.8 billion lawn care and turf maintenance manufacturer, where he was most recently executive vice president. Before joining Toro he held various senior management positions with Honeywell International and GE.

Mr Wilkerson’s move is not a surprise, since he had been directing his energies into other Terex projects for some time, but it represents the end of an era at Genie, with Mr Wilkerson having been with the company for 36 years alongside fellow founders Ward Bushnell and Roger Brown. Mr DeFeo paid tribute to Bob Wilkerson’s “remarkable record of business building and has been the driving force in the success of Genie since its acquisition by Terex.”
