05 February 2015

An agreement has been made by the Topcon Positioning Group with concrete paving manufacturer GOMACO to provide 3D control systems for its machines.

GOMACO is to supply components for newly-developed and existing systems including curb and gutter machines, concrete slipform pavers, spreaders and trimmers.

Brian Lingobardo, Topcon 3D road construction systems manager, said, “Equipment suppliers have a major influence over machine control buying decisions and GOMACO has a strong customer base that can benefit from Topcon 3D paving systems.

“GOMACO will offer on-machine 3D components that will best fit the customer’s needs including Topcon’s unique Millimeter GPS system.”

Bob Leonard, sales manager for GOMACO, said the partnership was an “excellent opportunity” for both firms to combine their expertise.

He explained the new venture would be particularly useful for applications including curbing and gutter work for paving contractors.

Leonard added, “We have a growing 3D support and service team and combined with the GPS training expertise, service and support of Topcon dealers - customers will be backed by a knowledgeable partnership that can improve paving productivity.”
