Italian lighting tower and pump manufacturer TowerLight has launched a new division - DF Ecology - to develop innovative environmental products for the construction market.

Produces being offered by the division include the Dust-fighter, a machine that sprays a fine mist of water over a wide area to suppress dust during building and demolition operations and, most recently, a self-contained, automatic wheel washer system designed for permanent, temporary or short-term installation.

The DF Ecology WW220 wheel washer has a powerful 2.5 kg/cm2 water spray pressure to thoroughly clean both the front and rear wheels of construction machines and incorporates a conveyor system for safe disposal of the waste sludge via an automatic pump screen self-cleaning system.

TowerLight said the 6000 litre water system can complete over five hundred washes per day, with the number of washes monitored by the operator via an electronic digital counter.

The complete unit weighs 4500 kg and measures 5748 x 2200 x 2076 mm, with power provided from a 380/460v three-phase supply at 50 Hz for European operation. Installation and removal of the WW220 has been made simple through its four lifting lugs.

For temporary installation or short-tem use, DF Ecology has developed the WW220 Ramp. This sister product is lighter (3500 kg), more compact (4390 x 2200 x 1895 mm) and will easily handle over two hundred vehicles per day. TowerLight says the wheel washer is ideally suited as a rental product on both long and short-term rental periods.
