JCB will expand its mini excavator line up at the Intermat show with the introduction of the 2.7 tonne 8026 CTS. Versatility was a central concern - the machine has a trailer towable transport weight, but also features a high lifting capacity and travel speed.

The machine uses a dedicated boom and dipper arm and is said to offer greater digging and lifting performance than competitive models. Increased efficiency allows the 8026 CTS to use the same engine family as the smaller 8025 ZTS - providing a 14% efficiency gain.

In addition, the slew turret has also been lowered by 35 mm for additional stability, while the machine uses a redesigned undercarriage, featuring a more open design with angled track legs to prevent a build-up of material within the track frames.

In addition to the mini excavator, JCB will also have a new telescopic handler on show - the high capacity 550-90 Loadall. Powered by a 97 kW engine, the machine can lift 4.9 tonnes to a height of 8.1 m. It was designed in response to customer demand for a machine for bulk handling operations with greater lift performance at reach.

Dump and roll-back angles of 46° and 34° respectively ensure that the machine is wells-suited to material retention and stockpiling operations.

The manufacturer will also be demonstrating its LiveLink telematics system at the event. This technology, which is to be fitted as standard on 80% of JCB's products sold across Europe from 2012, offers customers improved fleet visibility, provides detailed performance and operational information and enhances security.
