Rico Trapletti has joined Schuler & Schloemmer, UpRight's distributor in Switzerland, which is expanding its operations in response to major changes to the aerial lift market. Previously, Swiss law allowed working at heights over 3.5m to be carried out using baskets on fork lift trucks. All of this type of work must now be carried out using access equipment.

Mr Trapletti was previously head of UP AG, one of Switzerland's oldest and largest aerial lift rental companies.

Damian Schuler, CEO of Schuler & Schloemmer, said, "Working at Height regulations in Switzerland will be much more in line with the rest of the EU. We hope this change in the law will treble or quadruple the number of aerial lifts in the country over the coming years. Rico is a great appointment for us, because he is extremely well known and very well respected."

Mr Schuler has just sold his first UpRight SB47JRT straight stick, telescopic boom into Switzerland. The machine will be delivered shortly to a Swiss rail company.
