Tsurumi buys its French dealer

Tsurumi (Europe) GmbH in Germany bought its dealer, French company CE2A, on 8 January. It was the first time the pump manufacturer has acquired one of its own dealerships in Europe.

Managing director of Tsurumi (Europe) GmbH Daniel Weippert, said, "...this opportunity was too good to ignore...This move is a challenging one for us, but one that we are very much looking forward to."

"France is one of our most important markets and the largest geographical territory in Western Europe. This will be the first time we have decided to operate directly outside of the German-speaking regions, but it offers us a unique chance to work closer to our customers," said Mr Weippert.

CE2A owner and managing director, Alain du Petit Thouars, first approached Tsurumi about a deal two years ago. Mr du Petit Thouars, who is nearing retirement, wanted to ensure the future of his business so started actively looking for someone to take over.

"Tsurumi are my largest business partner by far and I have always found them to be reliable and trustworthy," said Mr du Petit Thouars, who will stay on as CE2A managing director for this year. "I have worked with them for many years as their exclusive dealer in France and believe they have the expertise, the product range and the business know-how to continue what I started with CE2A," he adds.

"CE2A will continue to offer the same product range and the same outstanding level of service to its customers once Tsurumi take over in the New Year," said Mr Weippert. "This includes the representation of pump manufacturers Tohatsu, Davey and Dragflow. CE2A will also continue to expand its activities in North Africa. It's a very exciting time for us as a company and we are very happy to have been offered this opportunity."
