Building on the success of the inaugural event in 2013, the Demolition Conference Turkey 2015, being held at the Marriot Asia Hotel in Istanbul on March 12 2015, will provide a perfect opportunity for contractors from outside that country to meet with potential Turkish business partners.

The conference will address the latest issues affecting the demolition industry in Turkey, including the latest draft of regulations issued by the Turkish government to control the Turkish demolition sector industry. These regulations will be discussed in depth by a speaker from the relevant ministry yet to be determined. Other leading Turkish construction industry figures will be in attendance as speakers – to date these will include H.Tamer Öztoygar, Chairman of the board of İMDER, whose topic will be Urban transformation and the heavy equipment sector; Mustafa Kara, senior chief researcher at TUBITAK MRC who will cover The Specification of the Usage Criteria of Recovered Products from Construction and Demolition Wastes; and finally Mehmet Ali Bulut, president of the Turkish Demolition Contractors Association, who will cover the demolition sector in Turkey and the investment opportunities it offers.

International figures will also share thier expertise on the programme, with confirmed speakers to date being your editor, who will cover the latest demolition equipment in use in Europe and North America, Mike Kehoe from C&D Consultancy, whose topic will be Planning for success – preparing the ground for successful demolition projects and Bill Moore from ERM, who will take on the issue of ensuring safety on demolition sites.

To assist with potential business discussions, a ‘dialogue point’ will be in position throughout the day to allow non-Turkish speakers to be able to communicate with the many Turkish individuals who will be present (and vice versa). This will allow potential business discussions to be carried out with the minimum of communication difficulties. Simultaneous translation in both English and Turkish will also be available during the conference. We look foward to seeing you in Istanbul
