Hoctief's US subsidiary, Turner Construction, has been selected as the design builder for the expansion of Terminal 2 at the San Diego International Airport, California, US, according to a company statement.

During construction of the US$ 500 million project Turner will manage construction of the 470000 ft2 (43700 m2) expansion as the majority partner in a joint venture that includes Flatiron, Turner's sister company, and PCL Construction Services.

The project is targeting an LEED Silver Certification from the US's Green Building Council upon completion in 2012.

The work includes construction of a three-story, ten-gate expansion of Terminal 2 containing a ticket lobby, airline check in, security screening, baggage handling, seating areas, concessions and support space. Also included is approximately 1.5 million of new taxiway and Jet parking.
