Shoring equipment rental firm Groundforce is expanding its operations in the UK with the opening of two new hire depots in Scotland and Northern Ireland in 2014.

The excavation support specialist is to open a new depot in Dyce, Aberdeen, extending coverage in the north of Scotland. The Northern Ireland location will complement the existing depot in Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland.

Further developments have seen Groundforce introduce a new major projects team to work with main contractors at early design stage, providing bespoke propping solutions on major excavation projects.

“This new depot [in Aberdeen] will further complement the service we offer to our customers in the North", said Richard Cherrie, sales director, Groundforce.

“We see the opening of this new depot as a natural progression for the company. Although we have been trading successfully throughout the country from our base in Coatbridge near Glasgow, this additional location will reduce costs and delivery times for our customers as well as increasing choice”.

The Aberdeen location follows the recent opening of an ESS Safeforce branch at Airpac Bukom premises in Bucksburn. Airpac is a sister company within parent group VP plc.

Groundforce said it was also expanding its business in mainland Europe, winning contracts in Germany, Scandinavia and Switzerland.
