United awarded for work with veterans

United Rentals has received the HIRE Vets Gold Medallion award by the U.S. Department of Labor for its commitment to veteran hiring, retention and development. The award recognizes United’s overall support for veterans and their careers.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal award that recognizes “exceptional achievement in veteran employment.” By meeting the criteria required for a Gold Medallion Award, United Rentals “demonstrated both patriotism and recognition of the value veterans bring to the workplace.”.

United was also named sixth overall in the Top 10 Military Friendly Employer category. Additionally, United received awards in the Military Spouse Friendly Employers, Military Friendly Company and Military Friendly Supplier Diversity Program categories.

“United Rentals has a strong focus on Veterans because of the leadership, teamwork and discipline they bring to all that they do,” said Craig Pintoff, executive vice president, United Rentals. “These awards reflect our belief that individuals with military backgrounds have tremendous experience to offer our company and ultimately our customers.”
