Universal Platforms was recently asked to provide a truck-mounted Ascendant 17m machine for use in London's busy Piccadilly Circus, where the iconic Eros statue had his bow broken by a tourist.

The statue commemorates the philanthropic works of Anthony Ashley Cooper, 7th Earl Of Shaftesbury.

Universal Platforms was able to assist a restoration engineer to reach the statue and change the bow string. The truck-mounted Ascendant stood on the pavement and allowed the engineer safe access to Eros, while London carried on with its business.
