According to recent analysis of a basket of indicators in the US, the prospects for long-term growth in the region ‘cooled’ in the first period of this year. The report, however, confirmed that the US economy was continuing to expand over the short term.

The analysis of ten US indicators was carried out by the Conference Board, a private research group. Interestingly four of the ten indicators studied actually increased in January, including building permits.
