Shell Ireland has taken delivery of a Valla 120D pick and carry crane to help out with maintenance work at a new gas plant in Ireland.

The crane was supplied by UK dealer Peter Hird and Sons. It has a 12 tonne lifting capacity. A key requirement was to move in tight areas around the plant, especially where there are height restrictions due to pipe racks and walkways, a company spokesperson said.

The Valla 120D delivered to Shell Ireland was supplied with an additional hydraulic fly jib, increasing the maximum lift height to 13 m.
