Fastening systems specialist, Vimi Fasteners, announced that about 7% of its revenues are invested in R&D and manufacturing processing. Currently these investments are concentrated on some strategic priorities as for example the optimization of processing in the stamping of ‘difficult’ materials such as nichel alloys, cobalt and titanium, together with the research on surface treatments to improve the component resistance to stresses.

Investments have lately been made on a software for the engineering of the cold forming and roll forming of components, on a resonance testing machine and on a machine to optimize parameters of screws tightening.

Further investments are planned for the next two years, especially in a new thermal treatment section for the development of new products and in the introduction of new innovative process technologies.
