Construction of the Dynamo Moscow stadium and entertainment complex is scheduled for completion at the end of 2017

Contractor Vinci has won a contract to construct the new Dynamo Moscow stadium, which will be located 5 km northwest of central Moscow.

The total investment for the project is reported to be US$1.5 billion (€1.1 billion). Vinci did not disclose the contract value.

Awarded by MC Dynamo, a subsidiary of Russian bank VTB, the new stadium and entertainment complex is being built on the site of the old Dynamo Stadium, which was closed for demolition in 2008.

The new complex will include a 27,000-seat football stadium, a 12,000-seat multi-purpose indoor arena, a 30,000m2 shopping centre, a multiplex cinema and 730 underground parking spaces. The facade of the former stadium, dating back to the 1920s, has been partly preserved and will be incorporated into the facility's architecture.

Vinci Construction Grands Projets will develop the basic design studies and build the facility based on the building permit file drawn up by the architects, US-based Manica Architecture and Russian company Speech Architects.

Construction is scheduled to start in the autumn of 2013, with completion scheduled for the last quarter of 2017.
