Volvo Rents has acquired Valley Rental Centers, a two location equipment rental business based in Merced and Modesto, California. The locations are existing Volvo Rents franchises co-owned by Helder Garcia and Brian Silveria.

The acquisition is the latest of several that Volvo Rents has made recently in the wake of its new policy of building a company-owned network of rental stores in North America.

In early July it acquired Contractors Equipment Rental (CER), a single depot rental company in Orlando, Florida.

Mike Crouch, vice president of business development for Volvo Rents, said Valley Rental Centers had an excellent team; "Helder, Brian, and the Merced and Modesto team will play significant roles in the expansion of Volvo Rents in the state of California."

Volvo Rents is now a subsidiary of the Volvo Group independent of the Volvo Construction Equipment business.
