Webinar promotes work at height

AFI has delivered its first webinar to promote health & safety in the working at height sector.

Presented by Brian Parker, AFI business development manager, technical support, the webinar covered the selection, management and use of aerial work patforms.

Mr Parker is an IPAF Council member and a past chairman and current member of IPAF’s Training Committee, as well as sitting on the Strategic Forum Plant Safety Group MEWPs Committee.

Over 130 people registered for the webinar which covered a range of working at height safety topics, including:

• The Health & Safety Executive’s new General Information Sheet (GEIS6) on the selection, management and use of MEWPs, as a replacement to the Construction Information Sheet CIS 58.

• Selection of MEWPs

• Trapping/crushing

• Exiting a platform at height

• Emergency and rescue plans

The webinar was the first in a series being run by AFI, and the date of the next one will be confirmed on the company’s website in the coming weeks.
