Barnhart Renewables, a division of Barnhart Crane & Rigging Co., will join forces with wind turbine engineering specialist WindPower Innovations, Inc.

The agreement in principle follows long talks between the two companies. "It is a clear indicator of the unique and vital role we will serve together in the wind energy markets," said John Myers, WindPower Innovations president and CEO.

Jeff Swanson, senior vice president at Barnhart Renewables, confirmed WindPower Innovations' vision to recondition and retrofit wind turbines would prove to be a growing segment of the wind industry, particularly in California.

"California has been installing industrial-scale wind projects since the 1980s. WindPower Innovations has the tools and experience to extend the life of those aging machines. We look forward to helping WindPower Innovations meet the lifting and scheduling challenges in front of them," said Swanson.
