Amec has won the contract to design and manage construction of the deepwater wind energy turbine project. Two 5 MW turbines, sited in 45 m of water, will be built in the Moray Firth, some 70 km off the coast of east Scotland. The turbines are expected to go into operation in late summer 2006.
