Former Alstom and Renault executive Jean-Marc Reynaud has been appointed managing director of Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe, the manufacturer and distributor of compact construction equipment.

Mr Reynaud, who joined Yanmar in April this year, succeeds Benoit Deboos. Mr Deboos has been managing director of the Yanmar plant in Saint-Dizier, France, for several years and oversaw the dissolution of the joint venture with Ammann. Yanmar said he had taken Yanmar from fifth to second place in Europe for sales of mini excavators.

Yanmar said; “Mr Deboos will continue to bring his experience to Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe, in particular with the French local authorities and the professional organizations.”

Mr Reynaud, who is a graduate of the Polytechnique School in France and has an MBA from Columbia University, began his career at Renault in engine development, spending nine years with the company before joining Alstom as director of high speed train engineering. He was later appointed Alston’s tramway platform director.

"My main objective is to establish Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe as leader by the quality of our products and our services", said Mr Reynaud.
