Zarges re-designs the Sherpascopic work platform
17 August 2010
European access equipment manufacturer Zarges, is launching a re-designed Sherpascopic work platform with a number of new and improved features.
Sherpascopic is a range of height adjustable work platforms, the Working at Height Regulations in 2005 established a requirement for a safe alternative to using ladders and stepladders: Sherpascopic meets requirements with a large platform, peripheral guardrails and stabiliser legs.
Height adjustment for the new Sherpascopic is based on a gravity latch located at the level of the user's hands; replacing a previous 'twist and lock' method; the new system is designed to be easier to reach and more intuitive to use.
The new stabiliser legs feature a telescopic mechanism that allows them to be used on uneven surfaces; when opened the stabilisers face inwards towards the platform to optimise its stability during use.
The new guardrail system includes an automatically closing gate, providing the user with 360° protection from falls.
Now available in 3 sizes, providing a height range from 2.78 to 4.25 m, each model has been made significantly lighter; the 7 to 9 tread model now weighs 5 kg less; easing to handling and transport.
