ZPMC secures major Dubai order

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) has been awarded a US$170 million contract by DP World to supply nine ship-to-shore cranes and 25 automated rail-mounted gantries (RMGs) to Jebel Ali Port in Dubai. The equipment is to be delivered in batches throughout 2013 and 2014.

ZPMC has been supplying the Dubai port since 2005 when it delivered the first dual 40foot (12 m) quayside crane. Since, then ZPMC has become the main supplier to Jebel Ali Port, the largest port in the Middle East.

In a further development, ZPMC has announced a change of chairman of the board, Song Hailiang will take over from Zhou Jichang from 19 September, 2012.
