Manual to remote with Imet retrofit

Imet has launched a new series of crane remote controls designed partly with the current economic climate in mind.

The Zeus M1 HSC is aimed at turning small manual 4-function hydraulic cranes into remote-controlled units through retrofitting. "It is possible to give old, manual cranes a second life, transforming them into radio remote controlled ones along with all the advantages: more efficiency and safety," said an Imet spokesman.

The transmitter unit uses a single joystick and buttons to manage all four functions. An LED above them indicates crane movement. The DSC option allows the operator to adjust the speed of each single movement, in real time, when operating in slow mode.

The HSC has a mono-block structure of actuators inherited from the manufacturer's decade-old modular Hydra Kit. The mono-block is suited for 4-function hydraulic cranes with 38, 40 or 42 mm rod inter-axis.

Hydraulic power is supplied by a counter pressure valve, which includes a pressure reducer and a filter for minimal maintenance. One filter change every six months is enough to maintain the highest level of performance, said Imet.

"The L-DC receiver unit is small, compact and can be easily installed anywhere on the machine," added the spokesman. While the external plug & play cabling, which is included, minimizes the installation time.
