Platform for spacecraft inspection
US special aerial platform manufacturer, MLE (Man Lift Engineering) has been asked to develop a specialised lift for the inspection and preparation of spacecraft prior to launch. The lift needs to lift personnel and equipment to 19.8 m (65 ft) and have a 1.8 m (72 in) outreach with a 360 deg mast rotation.
Planet develops landing gear inspection access
UK access equipment developer, Planet Platforms has designed and installed a mobile work at height solution for the aviation industry. It has been developed to give safe access to various components in and around the landing gear of the aircraft.
Accurate positioning of big payload
Kuka Systems Corp., a manufacturer of industrial robots and lift solutions, showed off its omniMove wheel on an 18 m lift platform. The omniMove wheel consists of eight specially shaped, non-driven rollers which are mounted between two identical stable rims. The diagonal alignment of the rollers allows the machine to navigate in confined spaces and turn on a spot. Each wheel can be controlled and driven individually.
