Euro Auctions hopes for biggest ever

Euro Auctions is hoping its next sale in Leeds, UK, will be the biggest yet, following a sale there in January that saw more than 4,900 lots go under the hammer, achieving a total sale price of almost £30 million (€38.2 million).

The sale, running from 6 to 8 April, has over 4,000 lots already assigned, and bidders are expected from the UK, from across Europe and globally.

Euro Auctions said that there would be a broad selection of good condition industrial plant and construction machinery, ranging from good condition mini diggers and dumpers through to several large excavators including a 40 tonne class CAT 345CL and a CX460LC machine, with both demolition and digger attachments.

It said several unusual lots would also be sold on the day but would not be available to view because of their sheer size. One is a 2013 double girder portal crane, currently located in Hertfordshire. Another is a massive tracked pedestal excavator which has been in use at Liverpool docks.

Jonnie Keys, general manager of Euro Auctions, said, “With an upsurge in demand for equipment, particularly from across Europe as sterling softens, we expect real interest from the global community at this Leeds sale.

“The diversifying range of quality, reliable and affordable equipment now coming under the hammer also means we are attracting many first time bidders from other market sectors as they look to capitalise on some great deals. The UK is still seen as one of the stronger global economies with lots of construction machine purchases leading to good supply of used equipment.”
