OSHA fines Verizon $140,700 for fatal electrocution
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Verizon for $140,700 due various safety violations following a Sept. 14, 2011 death of an employee who was electrocuted while working from a utility truck.

Platinum Equity acquires NESCO
Platinum Equity has acquired NESCO Sales and Rentals. Platinum is the owner of Maxim Crane Works and acquired NESCO from an investor group led by Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Company. NESCO founder and chief executive officer Rob Troxel will retain an ownership stake in the business going forward. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Tracked Lifts debuts fully insulated boom at ICUEE
Tracked Lifts unveiled its newest Platform Basket to the North American market at ICUEE. The US-based company represents Italy's Platform Basket, and another European supplier of atrium lifts, Danish company Omme Lifts. The Platform Basket 18.90/46 kV is a fully insulated, dielectrically isolated tracked lift that was made specifically for the utility sector, Tracked Lift's president Mike Hrycak told ALH. The 55-foot-working-height unit is based on an Omme 60-foot ultra compact tracked lift.
ICUEE snags 16,600 attendees
ICUEE, held Oct. 4-6 in Louisville, KY, brought in 16,600 registered attendees making it the second largest show in its history, organizers announced on the closing day of the show. More than 800 exhibitors took more than 1.1 million net square feet for product displays and hands-on equipment demonstrations.
