London 2012 Handball Arena

10 November 2010

The roof of the London 2012 Olympic Games’ Handball Arena is being covered with over 3000 m2 of sustainably-sourced copper. New images from the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) show the roof is now complete and the progress made in cladding the 7000-seat venue with sustainably-sourced copper. The top section of the Arena is being wrapped in 3000 m2 of copper with a high recycled content, of which 65% is from production scraps. Work started after the unique ‘naturally lit’ roof of the venue was finished recently. Construction of the venue is due to be completed in early 2011, with the copper cladding on track to be finish by the end of the year.
