Site operators face a challenge when it comes to using diesel-powered vehicles in buildings, on inner-city sites or in tunnels.

According to Germany-based manufacturer Kramer, however, it is now possible to perform work indoors completely emission-free with its 5055e and its new fully electric drive.

In addition, both operators and the environment are protected thanks to zero emissions and extremely low noise levels.

The company says the electric wheeled loader provides both environmental and cost-effectiveness benefits, while significantly lower maintenance costs mean the initial higher price can quickly be recouped.

The usual maintenance intervals still apply to ensure that the machine continues to work reliably and economically. But with maintenance of an engine is not required, inspection of the machine is correspondingly shorter and cheaper.

Performance parameters, off-road capability and ease of operation are equal to the conventional model, and a stack payload of 1,750 kg (3,858 lb), means the loader is versatile in its application.

“We are pleased that we can offer our customers an emission-free and environmentally friendly machine,” said Karl Friedrich Hauri, managing director at Kramer.

“We are certain this product will make an important contribution to preserving resources and increasing the efficiency of our customers.”
