IronPlanet auction sales up 37%

Construction equipment online auction company IronPlanet in the US reported second quarter gross auction sales of US$91.3 million (€58.6 million). The figure is an increase of 37% over the same quarter last year and 17% over the first quarter this year.

The Pleasanton, California-based company's year-to-date sales performance is $168.9 million (€108.4), up 70% from last year's.

IronPlanet said that it also during the quarter launched a French language version of its web site, which "...demonstrates [its] commitment to the Canadian market and...establishes a presence with French-speaking customers."

Also, the company has expanded its auction services to include industrial property and promoted Mike Groves to senior vice president of North American sales.
